National Mental Health Month

As mental health advocates, we are proudly celebrating May being National Mental Health Month at FightSong!

Did you know that National Mental Health Month began in 1949? It was founded  “to increase awareness of the importance of mental health and wellness in Americans’ lives, and to celebrate recovery from mental illness.” Celebration of mental health is in stark contrast to the shame attached to mental illness. Shame doesn’t lead to recovery, but celebration of difference and support to help anyone meeting mental health goals does.

This Mental Health Month, we’re looking at new tools to improve mental health. We’re curious to hear who you know who’s using the following tools we love– let us know in the comments.
